Nanette Lepore, Samanta Cortes, lead fight to save NYC's Garment District

Some WVFC readers might remember a Nanette Lepore fashion catwalk we embedded last year, for one of our Pat Allen's posts; the very last dress in it, after all the signature Lepore pieces, was a T-shirt saying simply: SAVE THE GARMENT CENTE...more

Five Ways To Tie A Scarf

Here we are in the middle of Fall. The temperatures are mild and uh...I have no idea what to wear each day. It's never really cold enough to wear my wool skirts and sweaters and I would never wear summer-weight frocks in October (I'm a little OCD that way). Could the Tide Be Turning?

First there was the image of Lizzie Miller, sitting naked, belly resting on her lap, and looking confident in the pages of Glamour magazine. After a huge response with women crying for more “Lizzie Millers”, Glamour responded with a commitment to feature more of a variety of body shapes and sizes within the pages of their magazines. Then there was designer Mark Fast’s move to feature plus-sized models on the runway during London’s Fashion Week....more
