I am NOT a Truck!

I was on craigslist the other day. Ok, I'm on craigslist everyday (20x a day to be honest). But the other day I came across this post looking for a Plus-Size Model. I've done a bit of plus size modeling so I decided to read the ad. ...more

I can't believe it's 2010 and I'm still...fat

There, I said it. If you’d told me 20 years ago that I’d still be struggling with this issue, I’d have told you you were crazy. I would have explained to you how I was an intelligent, spiritual, hard working woman who wouldn’t need two decades to get it. It turns out, I’ll need three....more

I am wearing fat pants and it is all my boss's fault...

It has not been a good week for me appearance wise. I am not a girly girl, I don’t like to clean my house, do my dishes, wear anything that is not lined in fleece,or even be an attentive mom, but I like to look good while I am surfing the net, writing blog posts, downloading music for my iPod and drinking beer in my underwear. ...more

FDA Investigating Link Between Alli Diet Pills and Liver Damage

Filed under "Who Didn't See This Coming?:" The US Federal Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating reports that alli, the only FDA-approved nonprescription weight-loss drug, caused liver damage, according to The Washington Post. (Man, if that sentence wasn't a mouthful, I don't know what is. Except, of course, that people using alli can't have a mouthful because of how alli works, but more on that later.) While there is no conclusive link, more than 30 people using alli and Xenical, its stronger prescription sibling, were hospitalized with liver issues between 1999 and October 2008. ...more

Nothing feels as good as losing weight

Losing weight is one of the most wonderful feelings one can experience.   I’ve lost a significant amount of weight a couple of times in my life.  Not five or ten pounds, I’m talking 50 to 100 pounds of weight.  I’m like Oprah, I’m fat, then I’m thin, I’m on a diet then I’m against diets. ...more

Can you look at your whole body in the mirror?

I have this place in my head where I go crazy if I look at my whole body in the mirror.  I am ashamed to let myself see how fat I have gotten.  Believe me when I say that I do know exactly how much I weigh and I have plently of pictures of myself.  But there is something that makes me cringe when I look into that full length mirror and I can't seem to get past it.  I can tell myself that I am beautiful and lalalala but that does not help me when I have to face the full lenght mirror.  It so hard right now because I have joined a gym and what does the gym have right in front of all its ...more
