Kicking Off Football Season With a Chili Party

Yesterday marked one of my favorite and also least favorite days of the year - the start of football season. Now don't get me wrong- I really and truly love football and I won't miss a single Packers game if I can help it, but the joy of rooting on my favorite team means saying goodbye to my husband until early February. (Which is incidentally around the time our baby is due- just watch me go into labor on Super Bowl Sunday!) ...more

Wonton Mozzarella Sticks -- Funky Game Day Finger Food

Back when Georgetown had a chance at winning the NCAA tournament, my very fun office had lunch at a local sports bar to watch them play. Someone ordered cheese sticks, which turned out to be mozzarella sticks in spring roll wrappers. I was inspired! My wonton version with marinara dipping sauce is fantastic and crave-worthy. Five people wolfed down this plate in record time! ...more

Easy Game Day Dip Options

Are you ready for the Final Four? Let's get ready to ruuuumble! Okay, I must admit: I'm not all that into basketball. But I am into any excuse for game-day food. I'm also not into toiling away in the kitchen while everyone else snacks happily in front of the TV. But I am into sitting in front of the television and chowing down alongside my friends. Not into: prepping for hours and hours right before a party. Into: make-ahead, easy-peasy appetizers. ...more

Game Day Deep Dish Pizza Cups

So guys...have you been infected with the madness that is college basketball? Dan and I - not so much. Basketball wasn't really a big thing at our school (or any other sport, really) so neither of us has a horse in the race. As a result, Dan is much more excited about spring training, and I'm mainly just waiting for March to end so that it actually starts feeling like spring around here. ...more

Buffalo Chicken Sliders

Considering I haven't been working over the past four weeks, I'm feeling a little detached from March Madness this year. Working in sports television usually translates to a palpable buzz around the office come tournament time. There are generally several people hosting bracket pools and everyone is talking about their pick to win it all. ...more

Game Day Appetizers

March Madness is here! It's my favorite holiday. Yes. Basketball tournament time is a holiday around here. Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip Croissant Roll-ups

Are you ready for some football? The big game is upon us. Honestly I couldn't care less about who is playing in the Super Bowl this year, because I am a big fat loser None of my teams -- the Buccaneers, the Steelers, or the Patriots -- made it to the game, so I'm a little bitter. However, I can still put on a brave face and fake it. Because you know what? Football isn't only about the ball. In my opinion it is ALL about the food. We're talking foods of all kinds. You have to have a nice spread. ...more
