Classic Beauty on the Red Carpet: Adele

This awards season you are getting to see even more of Adele. Normally you would only see her at the Grammys or Billboard Music Awards, but thanks to her killer pipes and James Bond, she is making appearances at the Golden Globes and the Oscars. While her look is pretty tame compared to the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry, Adele knows how to knock 'em dead with a few little details. Some fashionistas out there feel that she is playing it "too safe," but I like to look at as her knowing what works for her, and what doesn't. ...more

Thank You Jodie

On the night of the Golden Globe Awards I watched the news as my husband cooked lemon garlic pork chops and mustard greens. Our plan was a quiet dinner. We had no intention of watching the awards show; it’s really not our thing. But during a commercial break from the news, I caught a glimpse of the red carpet interviews....more

Golden Globes and...ahem..."Quirky" People

Watching the Golden Globes and…ahem…”Quirky” People interact with each other on network television during this year’s show was pretty fun for me, and I’ll tell you why....more

Golden Globe 2013 Hits & Misses

I love award shows.  I SOOO look forward to the award season, that kicks off with the Golden Globes.  I'ts about the love of fashion and the love of movies and t.v. (at least for me).  So, let's start off with the fashion hits and misses. (I'll have my winners hits and misses tomorrow)....more

Why I Don't Judge Jodie Foster. Well, Yeah, I Do.

Jodie Foster came out during her Golden Globe speech last night.Twitter and Facebook exploded as the LGBTQ community dissected her every word, gesture and the fact that it took her 50 years (well, say 30.) The straight community pretty much said "what the hell is she talking about?" and/or "wait, Jodie Foster wasn't out yet?"There's no "right" way for a celebrtiy to come out. A rambling speech on live television is one approach. An obituary like Sally Ride is another. People Magazine. 60 Minutes. Barbara Walters. New York Times. Sometimes we cheer, sometimes we jeer. ...more

Amy and Tina Rocked The Golden Globes; Plus Argo, Les Mis, Homeland, Girls, and Jodie!

The 70th Annual Golden Globes did not disappoint. (Well, at least not for the winners and those of us watching from the many upsets!) Amy Poehler and Tina Fey may well go down as the most successful hosts in the history of the show -- the jokes were on point, the deliveries were killer, and the chemistry between those two ladies is impossible to deny (although was it just me, or did Kristin Wiig seem just the tiniest bit icy?)...more

[Video] It's Almost Golden Globes Time! Who Are You Rooting For?

Are you ready for the "most unpredictable night of television"? I'd mock NBC for calling it that (in the below video) but they're not entirely wrong... ...more

Lincoln Tops 2013 Golden Globe Nominations

This morning, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced their nominations for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. As usual, they did it bright and early -- 5 a.m. on the West Coast or a more respectable 8 a.m. on the East Coast. And they didn't take all day either, like the New York Film Critics Circle. We like the speedy nominations....more

FINALLY! Amy Poehler and Tina Fey to Co-Host Golden Globes!

The Emmys had us clamouring for it via twitter, and it appears that the Hollywood Foreign Press has answered our prayers. Former SNL "Weekend Update" co-anchors Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will squeeze all four of their feet in to Ricky Gervais' notorious shoes to host the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards this coming January....more

What Were Your Favorite Moments at The Golden Globe Awards Ceremony?

Did you watch the Golden Globes on Sunday night? After all the hype leading up to Ricky Gervais' second time as the "naughty" host who would say anything, I thought his performance was rather tame. Over the years, the Golden Globes have started to surpass the Academy Awards as the live television event where anything might happen. The setting is less formal, and with all the stars swigging champagne around dinner tables, the potential for cringe-inducing (or heartfelt) comments is huge....more
Sorry, Jane, I just found this post. I hate missing your posts, DARN IT! Anyhow, I haven't ...more
