Today I'm sharing a super basic recipe. This is something I love to make when I have leftover brownies, broken brownies or even cake bits. A trifle is a great way to repurpose a dessert and is fun for the kids to make. You don't HAVE to make this difficult. Now that I'm all grown-up and whatnot, I feel that it's important to make things from scratch whenever possible. I know what goes into my food, I savor rather than inhale, and my daughter is growing up in the kitchen...in a good way. This responsible parent thing can be incredibly frustrating, but overall worthwhile.

If you're anything like me, you're NOT a morning person. Honestly, I don't think of myself as much of an afternoon or evening person later. Anyway, my lack of excitement for the mornings usually means I sleep as long as I can without being late. I'm in no hurry to prepare myself a high protein breakfast to carry me through my morning, usually a mug of Bullet Proof Coffee cheers me up and gets me rev'd up to head out into the Los Angeles traffic. ...more
