Today's Gratitude List - Linkup No. 9

Today is one of those days... one of those days where it's utterly natural and EASY to express gratitude, because my life is crammed full to bursting with blessings. In fact, it's SO full that it's spilling over the top and making a huge mess! A lovely, delightful, joyful mess. Perfect timing for the Gratitude Linkup! I hope you'll join me! ...more

These are my glasses, this is my book...

3:45 am Really? My daughter, the girl twin, started proclaiming that she had already done her business in her diaper and, in the process or insisting that her diaper got changed, woke up her brother. And so began my morning. With a high in the lower teens, a snow storm in the forecast, and not so friendly road conditions, I had been hoping for just a tad bit more sleep. Was hoping to wake up some time AFTER 4 or 4:30 am, not before. Too bad. ...more

Being thankful

Awhile ago, a process that would change my life as I knew it - sometimes making me seriously doubt the trustworthiness of men, my ability to get along with others on a more intimate level, question the safety of the world - at times distracted me from thinking more on the the blessings I have in my life....more

Oh Captain, My Captain

There are a lot of sayings out there about love.  How terrifying it is.  How great it is.  How much work it is.  How simple.  How complex.  How it fills you up and leaves you empty at the same time. All of them?  True.  Undeniably, inexplicably true.  How can so many adjectives apply to the same thing? When I met Captain, I had just come out of a semi-serious relationship of 2 years.  When he walked in the door all of my insides seemed to flip upside down and inside out.  I knew; He was special....more

Attitude of Gratitude: How to Cultivate One With Your Family

We talk so much about what we’re thankful for around this time of year. But I know I struggle with gratitude, and I struggle with a seven year old who struggles with gratitude, for most of the year. So I am always in search of ways to cultivate a better attitude of gratitude in myself, as well as in my children....more
