Monday, February 18--You’ve heard the phrase, “The days are long, but the years are short.” Too often I catch myself checking off the events on the calendar, waiting for the next thing--summer vacation, daughter entering 6th grade, son completing basketball season, or a ski trip. In the process of dreaming about the next thing, I rush through the moments in each day--the rituals like eating Eggos for breakfast with my kids, walking my dog on a sunny 72º day, or finding the lost red headband and a couple of socks under the couch. ...more
