I posted a recipe a couple of weeks ago for Sweet Potato Noodles with Pesto, and someone quickly asked me if it was a Paleo recipe.
"Do you follow the Paleo diet?" she asked.
"No," I smiled. "I just eat real food."

Have you gotten that thing that is going around yet? Whatever it is - the flu, a bad cold - it's here in my house, right now. The last few weeks have been a challenge. I have this belief that if I eat really well, I'll be immune from all winter illnesses.
Unfortunately, illness happens. And while my need to eat well has gotten even stronger, my energy level has been thwarting me. Cooking is feeling like a chore.

If you've been following me for a while you might have gotten the hint that I am not a big red meat eater. But come winter, I start to crave slower cooked stews, long simmering soups, and dishes with more beef or lamb than I am normally used to. I write this off as a winter craving for more pure protein. How many commercials have food which can never look as good as they do while they want you to use their products?
