I have to say that I'm truly excited to start this new chapter. In the past, when it's come to food related changes, I've never held any 'excitement'. I've set goals, but no true excitement about change....more
Which way do you lean when it comes to food preferences - sweet or salty? Given the choice, my go-to favourites have always been foods that are salty - and usually high in fat - with French fries and potato chips tied for #1 on my list.
Today was an absolutely beautiful day filled with church, relaxation and good eats. My husband and I had some great conversations while enjoying the sun. Typically we spend every weekend busy with chores or out traveling around. Today we sat and had great conversations with some yummy iced coffee and delicious food.Fish tacos were not on the menu for tonight's dinner, but as the night progressed it simply turned into that as we both decided we had been talking about fish tacos for awhile....more
Oh, the summer. Many of us spend all winter either working out or fretting about how to get ready for the warm weather. We want to get fit before it's time to expose more of our bodies than can be covered up with a winter parka. Hopefully everyone was successful with their cold weather weight loss goals and feels that it's important to avoid reversing that progress on vacation. When I started this journey of finding the right combination of foods to make the perfect fruit smoothie, I tried many things and--yes--experienced some really bad smoothies. I have to admit, I was slightly skeptical about making this recipe because I had never tried Quinoa before and didn't like the taste of it when I boiled some up. That being said...these cakes are delicious and packed in protein at 11 grams! The calorie count is a little high because Quinoa is high in calories, but they are so filling that one cake is enough!...more
