Jim is out on his bike taking in the crowds down here that are waiting for the fireworks that will start in about one and a half hours.The girls and I are here, resting after a good hike this afternoon in an old golf course that the state has turned back to an Environmental area,that is,they are letting it turn back into a forest! Where I am Me

When I was in college, I started spending my spring break with my oldest brother. We went on backpacking trips in Southern Utah. I had never backpacked before, so it was a completely new experience for me. Our first backpacking trip was to a place called Davis Gulch. Hiking for Clarity

Take a Hike!

Today, November 17, was National Take a Hike Day. So I did just that--went for a hike. For the first time, I visited St. Mary's River State Park, in Southern, Maryland. I enjoyed the non-strenuous, 7.5 mile hike around the lake. The trail was very peaceful, undulating through the forest. I look forward to hiking here again this winter....more
