Eat Mor Chiken!

Today I took my kids to Chick-Fil-A.  We love us some Chick-Fil-A any day of the week!  But as all of you know, today was special, for many reasons.  First of all, as a Christian, then as a citizen of the United States and third as a mom. ...more

A Manual of the Mechanics of Writing

I bought for $10 this weekend a book published in 1921 called A Manual of the Mechanics of Writing.  For some reason, I love the formal tone of old writing.  Let me quote form the Preface:...more

Another Weekend...

ANOTHER WEEKEND OF summer down! It's going so fast!! We are now half way through July and I feel like summer just got started, EEEK! I guess the closer we get to August the more I start thinking about school and getting my ducks in a row. Planning schedules, looking at activities, and making sure we have a good balance can take a lot of time. Maybe not physically, but definitely mentally....more

There are many ways to implement learning into each game, which I love....more

Homemade Pretzels...

IN THE KITCHEN today we made homemade pretzels! They are the best! My oldest grew up making them, but this is the first time I've made them with my little guys. It was great fun. What a great way to spend a wet day, by playing with dough you can eat!...more

How to Fold Things ~ Just in Case You Need a Review

Today I thought I’d share some of Martha Stewart’s laundry folding techniques or maybe it’s because I’m staring at a mound of laundry that needs to be folded.  Even my font is Fluffy Slacks!  I guess I have laundry on my mind.  Haha!  These would also be great viewing for a home economics class.  Happy folding! ...more
