Senator Barack Obama will make a campaign stop in Jacksonville on Saturday, attending a "Change We Need" rally at Metropolitan Park.
gates will open at 12:30 p.m., with the Democratic presidential nominee
expected to speak during the program that begins at 2:30 p.m.The event is free and open to the public; however, space will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Thursday evening my husband was bouncing TV channels from the U.S. Open to the Glenn Beck Show on CNN. Beck featured Chief Research Officer for the SANS Institute Johannes Ullrich in a discussion about a hacker who gained access to the system at an (undisclosed) U.S. nuclear facility. The good news: the government hired the hacker. The bad news: he didn’t totally compromise the system, but he succeeded to a point none of us would be happy about. As I watched the screen, the backdrop behind Ullrich drew my eye. First I spotted the Modis Tower.
The headline, “Blood in the water,” caught my eye, and the Reuters story paints a bleak picture of the Florida property market. Reuters focuses on southwest Florida, the Ft. Myers area in particular, noting one businessman who's making healthy profits by reselling foreclosed properties.
