Who is My Neighbor? (3)

“By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But if any one has the world’s goods and see his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him?  Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in deed and truth.”   I John 3:16-18 ...more

Something Besides iFart Stinks At Apple

One of the latest iPhone applications to be rejected by Apple is Me So Holy, an 'offensive' app that allows a user to pull a picture from his camera roll and paste it into an outline of Jesus's face. But what criteria did Apple use when faced with the decision? Why would the company reject that app but accept an equally offensive app called iGirl?   ...more

But I Don't Want to Raise a Perfect Son. I Want to Raise My Son!

It starts the instant you see two pink lines, or a plus sign, or however you learn you’re carrying the Hope of the Free World; and I haven’t yet figured out when it stops. It has always been around in some form or another, but now its institutionalized, big business. It doesn’t just come from your Mama or her Aunt Garnette, it now comes in the form of “expert advice” from doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, and God help, me, the old lady who smells like lilacs and Bengay sitting next to you on the airplane. ...more

The Republican Jihad

We could learn something from the Republicans on exploitation of the media.  When I watch the US media I see why many countries regulate their press and sometimes censor them.  I don’t think censorship should be necessary for a professional news agency, but I think I could make the case for it. ...more

For the Cross

Good Friday... When I was young, the name of this day used to strike me as odd. The Cross was good (beneficial) to me, us, because, through Jesus' death, we are reconciled to God! ...more
