I am feeling a little defeated today. One week back at work and things at home are already starting to slide. I can’t seem to get it together in both places at once. I am starting to really resent the feminists who told me I could have it all.
When I was at home I still couldn’t figure out how to do everything I wanted to do. I could just never seem to make a “real” dinner--the definition of “real” being not chicken nuggets, hot dogs, pizza or macaroni and cheese. Still, I was on top of all school forms, the laundry got done (although not...more
When I am stressed I do the obvious things. I read, I veg in front of Netflix watching bad movies and sci-fi series that I never would have known about if not for the internet. I nap - sometimes a little too much. I try not to yell and snap at the those around me trying to be helpful when I just want to be left alone. Adam and I were in the car the other day discussing his birthday plans, and he told me that I am "required" to come out to the cabin with him for a snowmachine trip next weekend (his bday is the 19th). Thinking back to the last time I was at our little cabin in Talkeetna, I remembered that while I was *a little* intoxicated over New Year's Eve I *may* have stepped in a bit of dog doo. Or a freaking POOL of it, from the looks of my boots. Which I haven't cleaned off yet, because, well, it's disgusting and I have a majorly sensitive nose (and gag reflex)....more
It’s February. The month of Love. The month of my 10-year wedding anniversary. And to make it sloppier with hearts, flowers, and that gosh darn love is all around- it’s Valentine’s Day. This is the month that romance is bursting at the seams but the only thing I can really think of is why the hell does my laundry multiply? Instead of roses, chocolate, and maybe even a toss in the sheets (that need to be cleaned) I am trying to figure out if gremlins live in my laundry....more
