You Don't Need a Tan

It happens to all of us.  Summer hits, we start wearing more skirts, and you look down at those legs that have been in hiding all winter.  They're pale, and if you're like me, paler than average.  Then you start to think, "I need a tan..." Well, you don't.  Really.  You absolutely don't. ...more

The Big C

I am missing a big chunk of my leg this week. No, I didn’t get bitten by a shark or attacked by some criminal with a knife.I saw my dermatologist. As many of you know, going to the doctor in general isn’t one of my favorite things to do. Teens Should be Banned from Tanning Beds

The American Academy of Pediatrics announced recently that it wants to make tanning salons and beds illegal for anyone under the age of 18. The WHO (World Health Organization), the American Academy of Dermatology and  the American Medical Association agree. The National Cancer Institute lists skin cancer as the most common form of cancer, with over 68,000 cases of melanoma and a whopping two million cases of non-melanoma skin cancers diagnosed every year. Skin cancer diagnoses total nearly half of all cancers....more
