It's True!

It is true, it is REALLY true.It is not an allegory. It is not for a few select saints.Life in Christ is for me.I was created for this, designed for this life.Twenty-five years ago, my husband discovered a book at a Trappist monastery that changed our lives, called “Guideline to Mystical Prayer” by a British Carmelite nun, Ruth Burrows....more

Where do you begin when you're at the end of something? It would help a great deal to know exactly what it is you're at the end of before answering that! So where is it I'm at exactly?...more

The Final Tie

It seems forever ago that my now ex husband came home to tell me he didn’t trust me anymore based on a few off handed comments made to my sister.  He waited two months to tell me, treated me terribly, and ruined a long planned trip to New Orleans.  So much for communication....more

I have to catch the 2255! I shriek above the cacophany that is London traffic on a Wednesday night not long before Christmas. We are legging it, fast as we can, from Covent Garden to St Pancras to catch the hi-speed home.  A fair old walk at the best of times....more

New worlds

Balance & Proportion

To continue on the topic of designing a new life, today I was thinking of balance and proportion in my bedroom and realized that this, too, is important in structuring a new life.  Finding balance can be difficult depending on the room shape and size, the furniture in it and what is on the ceiling.  So it is in starting over.  It can be difficult to find a balance when you have no partner to help you do all the tasks needed to be done in one day.  Most often, I remove everything from a space and only move in the big things first.  Now, I'm doing that with my...more
