As previously mentioned, I am not a Facebook user. (And, for the record, I have no problem with people who are avid Facebook users as long as they understand the site's policies.) I know how the site works as I used to have to monitor my company's account. When I did the monitoring, I had lots of internal conversations about data tracking with my bosses. When you hear a person described as being an extrovert, what's the first characteristic that comes to your mind? What about when you try to picture an introvert - what do you think that person would be like?
If your initial response was to think "outgoing" when you pictured the extrovert and "shy" when you thought of the introvert, I'm willing to bet you're in the majority.
I'm not convinced that's really the case, though.
When most of us think of the idea of the ego, we think of words like “egotistical” or “arrogant.” What most don’t understand is that the same ego that leads people to boast, self-inflate, name drop, and preen around with self importance can manifest as just the opposite. When you wallow in self-doubt, act like you’re not good enough to belong, self-flagellate, or otherwise diminish yourself, that’s not humility. It’s more ego....more

We’ve reached the point in our program where the twins exhibit a preference for one caregiver. As you may expect, that caregiver is me. I can’t say I hate this, as my older son Matthew was a little blasé about the whole parent-preference thing. He was Switzerland. Or I was too overwhelmed with newborns to notice.
