Cauliflower Crust Pizza

I’ve been planning to make this Cauliflower Crust Pizza for over a year. Even though I had lot of success with using cauliflower when I was making lighter Fettucini Alfredo of replacing part of the mashed potato with Mashed Cauliflower, still I was reluctant to try this recipe. I just couldn’t imagine how can cauliflower be used instead of pizza dough. The procedure itself is not complicated. You use some Riced Cauliflower, mix it with an egg and shape into a circle. Bake for 10 minutes, top with your favorite toppings and bake for 10 more minutes. That’s it!...more

The Pizza Dough That Changed My Life

Most of this recipe and the shaping technique that accompanies it is taken from Nancy Silverton’s The Mozza Cookbook. I have also just finished reading the profoundly inspiration homage to pizza, American Pie, by top U.S. bread writer Peter Reinhart. On his advice, I rest the dough between mixing it and kneading it and have added the optional extra stage of leaving the dough to ferment overnight in the fridge. However, with or without these extra steps, this dough recipe is amazing....more

Quinoa Pizza Balls

I have found this recipe for Quinoa Pizza Balls on The Vegetarian Ginger blog, but it seems that the creator of it was Anna from On Anna’s Plate blog. It is very simple to make and combines unbeatable pizza flavor with super-healthy quinoa. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside with a center of melted mozzarella (vegans can just leave out mozzarella cubes). You can make them smaller and serve as an appetizer, or make larger and serve as a main dish. They are great alternative to meatballs. Since they are baked, not fried, they are also low in fat....more
