Preschool Pointers - 8: Praise

Problem: Your kids only behave some of the time, and you want to increase that to all of the time, but reprimanding them doesn't seem to do much good, or curb the blowouts, especially when they're already underway. Solution:...more

Why Does God Demand Praise?

Lately, something has been tugging at my heart.  It’s the simple question of why God seeks out his own praise. The very idea that the ultimate creator, healer, and master of our souls has a need for his own people to fall down on their feet for His glory seems a bit preposterous.  Why the demand for it?  I understand that we should desire to worship God, but shouldn’t it just naturally flow from our hearts, like giving Christmas gifts or thrusting a dollar bill out our window to the homeless guy?...more

God Can Call You Out

Poor. Lost. Hopeless. Abandoned. God notices even the people who feel they can be called one of the above. One day Jesus was passing through Jericho and there was a chief tax-collector by the name of Zacchaeus who wanted to see who He was. (Luke 19: 1-10 NIV) Zacchaeus was a wealthy man yet he was lacking in his physical appearance. He was very short. Because of this, Zacchaeus was not able to see Jesus through the crowd of people who had gathered to see Him. To increase his chances of being able to see, Zacchaeus ran ahead and climbed a sycamore fig tree. ...more

Raise Your Kids Right: What to Say Instead of Praising

"What kids do need is unconditional support, love with no strings attached. That’s not just different from praise –- it’s the opposite of praise. "Good job!" is conditional. It means we’re offering attention and acknowledgment and approval for jumping through our hoops, for doing things that please us." -- Alfie Kohn ...more

Praise God for 40 days....Day 3

God manifests HIS power through Praise. Become a person of PRAISE, and you wil experience the release of the power of GOD. Ps 119:164 Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws. Praise God for 40 days...Day 2

When we paraise God we are expressing our admiration to him. We are lifting him on exaltation. Praise is the act of boasting about the Lord. Praise is our way of Life, the very heartbeat of our relationship with God. Praise is offred for who God is. The Lor is worthy to be praised. God formed you so you could declare his praise.(Isa 43:21) From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lor is to be praised. God delights in the praises of his creation. (Psm 149:3-4) But as for me I will always have hope, I will always praise you more and more....more
