2014: Unresolved

All that malarkey I spouted here about formalizing goals is a thing of the past.  I don’t think I made any resolutions for 2012, as I certainly couldn’t find reference to them in my FOUR posts in 2012.  Let’s just pretend that they morphed into 2013. 2013 Resolution Roundup...more

Mom's M & M Jar: A Tool for More Mindful and Motivated Motherhood

I've been giving some thought to how I want to improve my mothering in 2014. A worthy exercise, I figure. After mulling it over for a while, I came to the conclusion that my mommyhood could really use more of two things:1) MINDFULNESS2) MOTIVATIONWho's with me?...more

Resolution: Be A Better Version of Me

Word of the Year: Rest

As we turned the corner into 2013, I noticed a lot of internet attention on picking a word of the year. So I had no intention of picking a word. But the idea kept crawling back into my head.If I were to pick a word, hypothetically, what would it be?And why would that matter?   ...more

A Happy and Healthy New Year!

I hear a LOT of chatter about “my diet starts tomorrow!”, “I think I’m going to go gluten-free to lose some weight”, and my favorite “Just signed up for a new gym, so I know I’m going to go every day, and 2013 will be my year.” I appreciate all of the gusto, and that people decide to make a change, with a definitive date in mind (i.e. New Years day), and I REALLY want everyone to be successful, so why don’t we make a resolution we can stick to?  Perhaps, being healthier in 2013!...more

New Year's Truthlutions

Wow, how fast 2012 has came and went.  It was a year of ups and downs for everyone, but I don't believe that any year is without that common thread.  Such is life.  However, I am sure that many of us pulled out the lined paper and our favorite pen, well, maybe a tablet is a more realistic note taker these days, and jotted down a few things we intend to change for the this year.  We hear about it year after year and are bombarded with ads and commercials that feed into the sensationalism of New Year's resolutions.&nb...more

This past Saturday I turned 29 and while I am completely freaking out comfortable with being this age, I can’t help but be reminded that 30 is next.  I have decided to make a birthday resolution list, things I would like to accomplish before turning 30.  So, I have 363 days before August 18th, 2013 arrives.  Lets see how many I can accomplish. In no particular order—–...more
