Goals for 2016: Reinventing Myself

Resolutions for 2016 That Are Way More Fun Than Losing Weight

What a year 2015 was!!  I don’t know about you, but I haven’t always had the best luck when it comes to the odd-numbered years.  But between gardening, exploring, writing and cooking, this definitely was a better year than most.  I was really hoping I could look back at my year-end 2014 post to see what I promised to achieve to see if I came close to my goals…but since writing in my blog clearly wasn’t a priority from June 2014 to July 2015, I have absolutely nothing to go off of (clearly something I’ll need to keep working on in 2016)....more

2014: Unresolved

All that malarkey I spouted here about formalizing goals is a thing of the past.  I don’t think I made any resolutions for 2012, as I certainly couldn’t find reference to them in my FOUR posts in 2012.  Let’s just pretend that they morphed into 2013. 2013 Resolution Roundup...more

As we turned the corner into 2013, I noticed a lot of internet attention on picking a word of the year. Post after post about how people felt about the word they'd chosen the year before, and what word had settled in their hearts this time. I'm not really into doing big, new things at the beginning of a year. No resolutions or anything like that, it's just not my jam. So I had no intention of picking a word. But the idea kept crawling back into my head.If I were to pick a word, hypothetically, what would it be?And why would that matter?   ...more

A Happy and Healthy New Year!

I hear a LOT of chatter about “my diet starts tomorrow!”, “I think I’m going to go gluten-free to lose some weight”, and my favorite “Just signed up for a new gym, so I know I’m going to go every day, and 2013 will be my year.” I appreciate all of the gusto, and that people decide to make a change, with a definitive date in mind (i.e. New Years day), and I REALLY want everyone to be successful, so why don’t we make a resolution we can stick to?  Perhaps, being healthier in 2013!...more
