Should Bert Kick Ernie To The Curb? A Sesame Street Dilemia

My eldest daughter posted a statement on Facebook.  She said that the more she watches Sesame Street, the more she thinks Bert should kick Ernie to the curb. The thing is I haven’t watched Sesame Street in years until I started watching it for my Elmo obsessed granddaughter.  First impressions were not good, but it has grown on me.  I love seeing Maria, Gordon, and Luis as they are now.  I remember them as they once were.  The quality of the show has improved too....more

Dorothy and the Nabi

I’ve thought about this issue for days, which is 1) proof that I’m crazy, and 2) proof that I spend way too much time analyzing children’s television. But the part of my brain that is a Kindergarten teacher won’t let the issue go....more

Cookie Monster

Ok, so who does NOT love Sesame Street?! Anyone? Nope, didn't think so. Yes, I am an adult and I don't even have kids, but it doesn't mean I can't love kids shows. I love that a show that I watched as a kid is still going strong and providing great entertainment for kids even today. And they have definitely done a good job of 'keeping up with the times' by featuring fun vids with popular celebrities interacting with muppets, and getting involved with social media. ...more
