What is Your Go-To Beauty Pick-Me-Up?

Tonight at dinner, my six-year-old son said, "Okay, so tomorrow is Wednesday!"   And my husband laughed and said, "No, buddy, tomorrow is TUESDAY.  It's still Monday."  And my son said, "HOW is that POSSIBLE???"   I'm wondering the same thing.   This has been a long week already, after one day; it's the kind of week where I really just want to lose myself in the New Arrivals section of J. Crew and come home with an optimistic new wardrobe of spring pieces in fresh, happy colors!   ...more

20 Effectives Ways To Fight Wrinkles

Aging of the skin is a natural process by which the collagen and elastin, that keep our skin looking firm and youthful, begin to decline, this results in wrinkles. Cell production and cell quality also diminish over time resulting in wrinkles. These factors unfortunately are out of our control, though diet and supplements can slow down the process, but it won’t stop it. The influences that are within our control are largely environmental such as pollution (eg; smoking) and sun damage. Here are 20 easy ways to reduce wrinkles and slow down the aging process. ...more

My resolution? Saving face

This is a compensated review from BlogHer, Eve Lom, and Zelens. I have a January birthday, so every time I make a New Year's Resolution, I think of it as, "By the time I reach __ years old, I will have accomplished _____." And, even though I just keep celebrating my 25th birthday over and over (and over, and over), the fact of the matter is that when I make my 2009 resolutions, I will be planning to complete them by the time I'm 30. And that's a major age in my book. That's, like, a grown up age. ...more

New Adventure

Today I went to take a test to work the 2010 census. While sitting around the table we were all discussing various jobs and ideas for making money. I brought up Arbonne and was explaining about the products and a gentleman asked me if I used the products. I said yes and he said it looks very good, very good. How about that! I have been turning over in my mind about becoming a consultant for Arbonne for a few days and I had an appointment with Katrina who id a New Independent Consultant, National Vice President this evening to sign up... guess the products are working! ...more

Estee Lauder skincare - The splurge

Times are tough, I know that. Money is tight in most of our homes and, if you've read my Beauty Hacks before, you know that I am a drugstore/beauty aisle in the supermarket kind of cosmetic consumer. But the good people at Estee Lauder thought I might be interested in trying out some high-end skin care and who was I to argue? (Yes, I'm aware of the fact that there are skincare products that cost hundreds of dollars, but I'm not going there.) ...more

Thinking about trying Pearl Laser Treatment...

A girlfriend of mine, who works as a cosmetic nurse, recently started using Pearl Laser in her office.  She's offered to give me a session for free. I've been looking around online to find out more about the procedure - there IS a bit of downtime with it: 3-4 days appears the norm.  But the online photos show amazing results: wrinkles reduced or eliminated, and young, fresh, even skin.  I have a lot of freckles and sun damage I'd love to get rid of.  I also still have the discoloration left behind by pregnancy mask. ...more

Tend Skin, my secret weapon

I realize that most of us aren't thinking about shaving at this time of year. I know that many of us are content to pull on a pair of tights and not deal with the aggravation of shaving our legs or bikini lines as the cold weather sets in...but I'm one of those type A people who continues to shave throughout the winter and that means that I need to treat my skin all winter long. ...more
