Realizations During Mom's Night Out: Who I Am as a Mom

Last week I set out to plan an evening with my mommy-friends. One of them emailed the rest of us suggesting a night out of town with dinner, drinks, and if we were feeling a little crazy, maybe even some dancing! After careful plotting with our husbands and many more exchanged emails, my friends and I finally planned a REAL ladies night out. Not a quick meal in town where one of us gets called home because of a screaming child, or an evening at one of our houses with a couple of diapered tag-alongs. But a real, makeup and heels night out! ...more

My Interview for the Position of Stay-at-Home Mom

For a multitude of reasons, my husband and I have decided it might be best if I become a stay-at-home mom. And for a multitude of reasons, I am excited, nervous, and eager to possibly begin this very new, very important chapter of my life. I’m kind of panicking, to be honest. I mean, I want very badly to be THE BEST SAHM the world has ever known. Yes, I know it’s an impossibility, and that putting that kind of pressure on myself is ridiculous. Out With A Flush

What a morning! Maybe I should star in a reality show called Toddlers and Toilets. It started off as most normal mornings go. Once everyone is up and moving, I go down to the basement and run on the treadmill while Hubby and Lil Man eat their breakfast. I had just finished a 3.5 mile run when I went upstairs. I began making Hubby's lunch, and Lil Man was occupying himself with his drill....more
