All that, And a Bag of Chips!

All that, And a Bag of Chips!   It’s almost lunch….actually, its past lunchtime and I am still working on a spreadsheet, my tummy is growling, and all I want to do is get this job done. Therefore, feeling stressed, I leave everything and go to get lunch, because I'm hungry and I did not bring lunch from home....more

Adult A.D.D.

I'm notorious for not being able to concentrate.  Seriously, I'm not sure how I made it through school and got straight A's.  Perhaps I've developed A.D.D. as an adult?  In fact, I'm pretty sure I have.  My counselor a few months ago asked me if I had ever been diagnosed.  I laughed it off at the time, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder "is she right?" ...more

Orgasms, Heaven and What Exactly is 'A Few Days'

So, I have been feeling superdy-freaking-duperdy overwhelmed the past few days.  A few days is never an exact number, is it?  Like when the pediatrician asks me how long a kid has had their fever and sore throat, and I say a few days.  By few days I am referring to maybe 18 hours, but it is (usually) a Friday and I want a back-up antibiotic prescription just in case Saturday rolls around and sore throat is now major problem.  Or, how long have I been overwhelmed?...more

What Women Do When They're Unhappy or Stressed...

I'm interested to know what you do when you're unhappy or stressed or confused about life.Do you read a book, take a walk, punch a pillow, pray? Aging in a Prison of Indecisions While Menopausal

As I sit and write, a drying-out prune from so much crying (lately I seem to cry a lot), I am aging in a prison—partnered with menopause—and indecisive about my life: stay fat, lose weight, to exercise or not to exercise. But darn it; make a decision soon, for my health’s sake. What to do…? But why do today what I could put off and do tomorrow? Do. Don’t! Yes. No! But then tomorrow never comes. And only if I am lucky, I’ll die of old age waiting, while still deciding. Now that’s-a-hoot!...more

A Stressed Mom’s Guide to Entertaining the Kids

My best girlfriend, Ann, is a stay-at-home mama. Over-prepared is an understatement to describe her; she is over the top. Anytime we go anywhere, even a fifteen-minute drive, she has packed every kind of snack: a carb, a protein, a fruit, a veggie. She has packed every supply imaginable, things that make noise, things that are snuggly. I basically show up with the kids.  ...more

Help, I’m Totally Frazzled!

I would like today’s Blog to address a comment a friend of mine made to me the other day. It went something like this: “Erica, I have to tell you, I’m losing my patience.  I’m yelling at my kids a lot lately.  I can’t remember the last time I sat on the floor with them to do a puzzle. I’m short tempered with my husband. I’m pulled in a million different directions, and I’m completely frazzled!”...more

5 Quick Ways to Get Your Giggle On™

Having a bad day? Stressed? Need some comic relief? Here are some easy, free and simply solutions to incorporate silliness into your day: 1. The Underwear Solution Take a CLEAN pair of your panties (thongs, bikini’s, granny panties - whatever you’ve got) or a pair of boxers (the underwear, not the dog), briefs or jock strap (who still wears these?) and place them on your head, backwards. Check yourself out in the mirror while doing the “Underwear on Your Head dance”. Feels silly, don’t it? Look stupid, don’t you? I bet you smiled! 2. Invent New Words ...more
