Pastel Stripes + Go Blog Social After-Party.

All good things must come to an end– and what better way to cap off Go Blog Social than with a party at The Garment District? GBS sprung for sushi and a round of cocktails for everyone, and we were invited to shop the super cute boutique with our newfound blogging buds....more

All the Prints.

There’s print mixing, and then there’s print mixing. As in, “Are you seriously wearing all of that?”But a little print risk never hurt anyone (that I’m aware of), so I gave it a shot by matching up this camo + striped Gap tee with a pair of leopard pumps. I know, I know. On paper, it sounds like a bit much– but the nice ‘n solid navy trouser in the middles serves to separate the prints and prevent some serious clashing....more

Side Cut Stripes.

Nothing like a few new pieces to brighten up a standard outfit.Simple striped sweater + a pair of distressed gray jeans get a little kick in the form of black leather booties with killer side cuts and a new statement necklace. I posted a pic of the boots on my Instagram– they’re so It Girl tough, I’m obsessed....more

Polka Dot Top + Striped Blazer.

To play the style game, you have to be able to remix.Working and reworking what you already own not only stretches your closet (and decreases the cost-per-wear of each item), but gives you the opportunity to wear old pieces in new ways....more

Stripes, Chambray, and Brogues.

Want to shake up your standard weekend uniform of jeans and a t-shirt? (See also: jeans and a sweater.) I suggest throwing on a few extra layers and a pair of oxfords.I started with a basic striped tee + skinny ankle-zip jeans. A chambray shirt worn as a jacket is my second layer, and a much-loved military vest is the third. Lastly, I slipped on a pair of brown brogues and a pendant statement necklace. Presto– I’m ready to tackle the weekend....more

Neon Gypsy.

Yo, check the location change. This post is coming to you from my back patio. (Best enjoy this end-of-summer weather while we can, no?)I have been lusting after this dress for ages and ages– how good are the neon pink stripes against the cool beige? (This dress is last-season JCrew, and I finally found it in my size on eBay, thank you fashion gods!) I went light on the jewelry– Midwest humidity and all– and wore some summery color block sandals to finish the look. Happy first week of September!...more

Sunday Stripe.

Black and white, a solid bold stripe, and mirrored flats that are fast becoming a go-to. Who says Sundays can’t be fashionable?Love this gorgeous Rachel Zoe skirt; it arrived on my doorstep last week and I just couldn’t wait to break it in....more

Mirrored.

Bold color one week, a muted palette the next. Doesn’t mean there aren’t a few standout pieces in this outfit: namely the striped pencil skirt and a pair of mirrored flats. I love ‘em: pointed, loafer-esque across the toe, but with some sass in the form of a mirrored finish.Finished the look with an easy gray v-neck, chevron necklace, and a pop of color via a Tang-colored bracelet. Simple but effective M-F work attire....more

Day to Night Maxi Dress.

It’s full-on summer and the patio bars are open for business. This means a lot of leave-work-hit-the-pub type gatherings, no? No time for an outfit change. In the summer, taking a look from day to night is as easy as removing a layer.Added a classic denim jacket to a striped maxi dress to make to appropriate for the office. A beaded necklace and gladiator sandals with shiny gold hardware added some interest. After work, I tossed the jacket in my passenger seat and hit happy hour like a pro. No fuss....more
