Spring Cleaning

Finally! The sunshine that was supposed to make an appearance on Friday arrived today – four days later. Seems to mean business, too. It’s not wishy-washy like it was yesterday when it only teased us by peeking between gray clouds intermittently.  The thermometer reads 64 degrees. After all the rain we’ve had lately, one can almost hear the grass growing. And oh, is it green! Such a beautiful bright shade of green! Everything looks so fresh and clean. The month of March is almost gone. On a beautiful day such as this, I think of my mother....more

  “Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy...”I’ve been trying to get some work done for the paper this week, but it’s hard to concentrate on anything besides the baby.This is a lovely day, though, warm enough for me to bring my computer out to the porch, where I sit in the swing with the sun warming my shoulders.Our chocolate lab dozes on her side, stretched out on a bed of leaves.  Joplin, our calico kitty, is sprawled under the swing, looking contented just to watch the leaves fall. ...more
