The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

No, it's not Christmas; it's back-to-school time!I have always loved back-to-school time but as I’ve gotten older my reasons for loving it have changed. When I was a kid I loved shopping for supplies and buying new fall clothes. I still get the itch to buy a nubby sweater in mid-August just so I have something new for school. And, of course, I loved buying school supplies because there is nothing better than a brand new box of 64 Crayola crayons. (Burnt Sienna and Periwinkle will always have a special place in my heart)....more

The Pooh family …

When the girls were little, they used to like Winnie the Pooh shows. Now, come to think about of it, it was me who liked it so much. I had their rooms decorated with Winnie the Pooh borders, and their crib filled with Pooh decorations. So, naturally they grew to like it. We liked it to the point that we had literally transformed the characters to each one of us in the family ......more

Without goals, I feel like I am doing things that never end. Without goals, I feel like I am in a limbo state. I believe for an individual to be successful, a goal needs to be set and aim as high as one could....more

"YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS CAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A "FRIEND" RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR DAUGHTER!"

we have all at one point or another had to "divorce" our best friend, for me that occassion happened about two months ago. the things that drew me to her ended up being the things that inevitably caused me to seperate myself from her. we had known eachother when we worked in the same place 18 years ago and though i thought she was annoying at first it was 10 years later that we actually crossed paths again. we had both gone through some things that put us in the same anger management class, domestic violence being the common issue....more

Five Conversations to Have Before the Prom

As prom approaches, lots of planning is already underway. Not just by the prom committee, but by each and every student who aspires to go. We parents are bracing ourselves for all of the drama and expense. But in addition to bracing ourselves, if we are smart, we will be taking an active role so as to nip both the drama and the expense in their little buds! ...more
