New Year, Old Nano, and what to do now?

Okay, it’s the new year.  And I’m promising myself to write every day.  Either 100 words on a current project, or a blog post.  I really, really need to make writing a habit.  For years, I've just wanted to make writing a habit.  This year, it's a need. But considering I stayed up way too late for a 51 yr. old, I chose blog post for today.Yeah, I’m regretting that myself at the moment....more

Little Seed of a Gift

I've been writing on this blog for a little over three years now. For a while it was just something I was doing because I was told to. Every week my mom would tell me that I had a talent. That I was given the gift of writing well. And I never believed her. I refused, maybe not out loud, but on the inside I refused with every fiber of my being. I found it ridiculous. She continued to tell me, and I continued to not believe what she was saying....more

Blog on!

November was a tremendous learning experience for me. I was able to complete both NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo, and when it was done, I still felt the urge to sit at the keyboard and peck away (unlike past years, when I felt creatively burnt out well into the new year)....more

Day 20 NaBloPoMo; Prompt- Do I have a book in me?

BlogHer; is prompting do I have a book in me?  Me; Yes, I have several.  Thank you very much for asking. At this moment I have two little commuter reads (34 pg.) published on Amazon and I am working to upload my third.  No one knows about them, beyond my writers group and this blog.  I have people around me who also have books in them and sadly are very competitive.  I took a page from my own book on quitting smoking and decided to quit talking about it, so they know I write, but they don't know that I am published.  ...more

Day 17 NaBloPo Mo; Reading Monday

Today is reading Monday!  Today I am reading other blogs, going to work, and hopefully finishing Goodness.  So I might be cruising the app the store too for a writing app geared towards creating print books for CreateSpace.  Man, I hope they aren't too expensive.  If you have a favorite I'm willing to hear it.Happy NaMo Everyone!Life is a crooked and varied path.  Get on it.  heatherpublishing.wordpress.com...more

Day 16 NaBloPoMo; Tech Frustrations

Sandi from sappy as a tree took Photography 101 and after a few sessions said that she should look at each assignment individually as a new experience.  I told her that was a great idea and at least for me, it would be a new exercise in patience.  Normally, I would go into a project, thinking if I learned something from the first time or session, that I would expect less trouble and possibly less effort in the second, just because I had gained new knowledge....more
