It is a hectic morning even with Yun’s new mommy cloning strategy First kid comes downstairs, the math practice, daily fruits and breakfast… then comes down the second child, same routine at a slightly later time…. then the drive to school bus stop, and a drive to the other boy’s school….
When Yun comes back from the morning rush, she feels hungry. “Now, what should I eat?” she wonders, as she opens the frig. No much ready to eat food. She opens the freezer, a big smile comes to her. There are mountains of dumplings and egg rolls, there are even frozen left over cooked bitter melons and meat, and several dishes. Some in containers, and some in zip-lock bags! Yun takes one out, reheats it on the stove, a yummy brunch is served!
From the left over food, she wanders if there is such a thing as left over love. You see, when her parents were here visiting, they did everything they could to make she and her children’s lives good and well. They cooked, cleaned and sewed, mostly, they cooked! That explains why the deep freezer in the garage is full of frozen dumpling and egg rolls! What to do with the left over food after each meal? “Freeze them so you can eat them later.” So, they always make sure there are plenty left overs!
They have so much love that Yun and the kids can not receive them all in the short two weeks. So, along with the frozen food, they freeze the love that is released and received days and weeks after they have left the house. Their presence is everywhere, so is their love.
How large is one’s love? Yun can not know for sure. She only knows that her love for her children can only be contained by the universe, and she figures that her parents must feel the same way. After all, where does one learn what love is and how to love if not from their parents?
So, Yun looks at the frig and freezer, feeling very blessed to be so loved.
