I never got around to posting yesterday. Oopsies.
I had a full day at work and the weather was nice so I took the dogs for a walk. I got back from the walk and plopped in my reading chair to read my latest Kindle download. I forgot I pre-ordered this book:
I usually don’t go for memoirs of people I’ve never heard of, but this one caught my eye when it was featured by ABC news. I’ve driven through these Jewish communities in new york and north jersey and they fascinate me. They live in a closed-off world just like the Amish, only urban. I pre-ordered the book and forgot about it until it arrived today. I decided to start reading, I’m at a slow point in my other book. Hours later, Dev texts and asks if I’m going to knitting. I totally lost track of time, I was so engrossed in this book. Seriously.
I went to knitting and had a good time. It was a small crowd because of Valentine’s day – just Dev, Anne and I. I then came home and spent all night knitting.
Yes. I left knitting to do some more knitting.
I was knitting this:
I designed this sweater years ago, before we bought our house. I was inspired by a kimono-style athletic sweater I saw in a girly magazine – Elle or Marie Claire…I can’t remember. I had everything but one sleeve finished and I scrapped it. I don’t really remember why, but it made its way into my frog pile when I got my last job and couldn’t wear hooded sweaters to work. (hindsight being 20/20, that was a really stupid reason for not finishing a sweater.)
I was bored and pulled it out of the pile on Monday and finished the sleeve at 11pm last night. I’m glad I did, I love this sweater! The yarn is Lion Brand’s Cotton Ease in Magenta. I started this when I was in my “texture phase.”
I don’t know how I didn’t go crazy with all that moss stitch. I love the “piping detail next to the button bands. I wore this to work today and it was really comfy. This will definitely become a major staple in my wardrobe.
So, have my knitting readers ever have similar experience? If not, maybe you should take another look at that frog pile and see what can be saved!
Stay Tuned…..
