BlogHer Book Club is reading Stella Duffy's latest novel, Theodora: Actress, Empress, Whore. Here's more about Stella!

Stella Duffy has written twelve novels, over forty short stories and eight plays. The Room of Lost Things and State of Happiness were both longlisted for the Orange Prize. The Room of Lost Things won Stonewall Writer of the Year 2008 and Stella's BlogHer Book Club pick, Theodora, won Stonewall Writer of the Year 2010.

Her stories include several for BBC Radio 4, and she won the 2002 CWA Short Story Dagger for "Martha Grace." Her plays have been performed at the Lyric Hammersmith, Soho Theatre, BAC, The Scoop, Oval House and the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh. She adapted her novel State of Happiness for film for Fiesta/Zentropa and HBO have recently optioned both her latest novel Theodora and its sequel for a television series.
