Getting Social on International Women’s Day

If you've been on Twitter or Facebook recently, you may have caught on...March 8 was International Women's Day. This year's theme and focus is Connecting girls, Inspiring futures.

Is there a woman you has inspired you? I am constantly inspired by different women I meet, by learning their life story, valuing work-life balance, working through challenges and living in the moment.

"Connecting" and "Inspiring" is definitely a good choice of words. My heels lift off the ground at the thought of how powerful social media is that it allows us to celebrate together. I am based in Los Angeles, yet blogging, Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest allow me to celebrate with all of you. It's my readers, those I connect with on social media and loved ones who inspire me to be a better writer, a better social media-preneuer and a driving force of why I love doing what I do. I am a happy gal...or shall I say woman.

Cool tools! The International Women's Day website has provided us simple ways to enhance our experience and help inform others.

  • Join the party on Twitter with @womensday and others and don't forget to use #IWD and/or #womensday.
  • Grab a logo to promote International Women's Day.
  • Embed an International Women's Day events widget into your blog or website.
