Last night was good. I took my bike out for a spin, and it was brutal...but in a good way. I love the way my legs burn as I pedal. I even conquered most of the big hill, which was much better than my original plan of walking it. I love the feeling of zipping around the path, weaving in and out of walkers, feeling the wind whistle by, and watching the pedals spin below. Plus there's something about a bike that just makes me feel "cool". I don't know why. By the time I reached the garage I was dripping with sweat and my face was flushed. OH and I felt fantastic.
So fantastic that I did a full weight lifting routine, even the ab work that I despise. Of course it helped that I had someone to work out with. Lately, I've really needed a push to do weights. I'm always able to convince myself that cardio will do just fine no matter how many articles I have read about the benefits of weight training. But last night was good. I felt a nice burn that said 'hey body, you're alive and you are kicking ass right now'.
Who knows what will be in store tonight, but all I have to say is: bring it on!
