I am pretty good at giving presents, but like everyone else, I still don’t know what to get people sometimes. To help myself out, I usually read a few gift-giving blogs to get ideas from other people who are usually pretty good at giving gifts. With that, here is a list of some of the gifts I have given that were loved the most, and the reason they loved them:
Dad – tickets. He is the ultimate hard person to shop for, but I had searched ticketmaster for an event that I knew he would love to attend, then got into cahoots with his girlfriend to make sure he wouldn’t be busy that day.
Grandparents – a Nature Channel DVD of Yellowstone. They like to travel, but their absolute favorite place to go was to Wyoming, and they talk about really wanting to go back, but it is getting harder and harder for them to travel.
The ladies in your life – relaxation. Women love to be pampered, so you can either give them a gift certificate for a pedicure, a certificate at a nice salon, or a certificate for a massage. This is NOT equal to a home pedicure kit or personal massager… we want someone else to do it for us.
Young family just striking out on their own – groceries or any type of food. You want to make sure they are eating, so Christmas is a good time! You can send them an evening out at their favorite restaurant by giving them a gift card or you can send them food that will last them a while. By that, you can either give them a giftcard to their local grocery store or order packages of food (like a 5 lb box of pancake mix that only needs water to make the pancakes) and have the food delivered.
Anyone – steak gram. Omaha steaks offers packages of different meats and sides you can send to someone’s house. Having received one of these packages before, I can say they were delicious, and it is always nice to have a fabulous dinner planned for you for a few nights, even if you have to cook it.
I hope this list helps someone this holiday season!
