Give Grandparents a Hug for Grandparents' Day!
By Bella So Savvy on September 11, 2011
Today is not just a day of remembrance, but a day in which we honor those special people in our lives: our grandparents. Grandparents Day became an official holiday after years of a grassroots' effort in 1979 by President Jimmy Carter and is celebrated on the first Sunday after Labor Day. If you forgot this year, there's still time to make a phone call or even do a quick craft for the grandparents in your life.
Dee at Bella So Savvy posted a great craft to make a card for Grandparents Day. It's easy to make, quick and, bonus, super cute. You should be able to sit down and help your kids -- or set them loose on their own -- and get a few made before the day is out! Don't forget to click through to Bella So Savvy to learn how to put the card together!
And if you're a grandparent, well, Happy Grandparents Day to YOU!
This year Grandparent’s Day is on September 11th and what better way to celebrate than with a great big hug for grandma and grandpa?
Your child’s grandparents will get double the hugs — one for real and one to carry them all the day through.
- Construction paper (your choice of colors- use one for flesh color)
- 2 googly eyes
- Glue or double stick tape
- Markers and crayons
- 3D paint
- 2 Small bowls — one slightly smaller than the other (use as stencils for head & face)
