Giveaways, Celebrities & Sponsors – Oh My! A Round-up of Sponsor Activities On-Tap for BlogHer ‘09

BlogHer Original Post

As you all know, our sponsors not only subsidize the cost of attendance, they've also made it possible for us to allow in over 200 additional bloggers off the waitlist. But they're not stopping there! Here's a round-up of just some of the things they've got planned:

Once again Chevrolet is back! They'll be hosting Ride & Drives off the Expo Hall with some their new models including the all new Cheverolet Camaro - now that's a HOT car! In fact it's so hot that Chevrolet is having trouble keeping up with demand.

Join PepsiCo for a tweetup on the topic of Purpose. They'll be hosting a roundtable discussion on this hot topic with Jill Beraud and Lee Woodruff on Friday at 12:15 in their booth. PepsiCo is not only hosting various activities on-site in Chicago, they're also giving back to the community. Quaker is offering $1,000 Go Grants to help you fight hunger in your community and IZZE Sparkling Juice will be having a book drive to help the Global Education Fund. They'll be collecting Leadership books at their booth to send to Kenya. I'll be bringing The Fred Factor and Now Discover Your Strengths, so join me - throw some books in your suitcase and help out this great cause. PepsiCo will also be helping us "green" the conference by providing recycling canisters throughout the event space.

Want to learn how to look good in pictures (I know I could use a few tips)? Well Carson Kressley will be on-hand with Nikon to help you out! Stop by the Nikon booth from 4 - 4:45pm on Friday to meet Carson and get his expert advice.

The Makeover Pavilion is back! Stop by to get a Virtual Makeover from Mary Kay, update your fall wardrobe with Ann Taylor, learn how to make your home healthier with BISSELL by eliminating dirt, dust, bacteria and allergens, and get a mobile makeover from T-Mobile, they'll help you get the best value for your wireless needs. And Ann Taylor is hosting a special event for BlogHers at their flagship store on Sunday - get on the guest-list here.

Have you seen those responsibility commercials? Pretty engaging stuff! The Responsibility Project will be hosting a "newsroom" booth in the Expo Hall. You can participate in discussions on issues of the day as well as express your opinions on camera about personal responsibility. You'll be able to watch the videos and see what other BlogHers think at and on after the conference.

Want to grab a bite at one of Chicago's top restaurants? Let Michelin help you out! They've created a special Michelin Guide just for BlogHer '09. This guide has a variety of cuisines (and Veggie options too) and price levels to meet even the pickiest eater's fancy. Gino's East is a childhood favorite of mine, so I can't leave Chicago without having one of their deep dish pies.

One of the restaurants on that list is Topolobampo, one of Chef Rick Bayless' three Chicago restaurants. If you're a Top Chef fan like me, you know Rick Bayless as a judge on Top Chef and most recently as a contestant on Top Chef Masters. Now you can meet him in person - he'll be appearing with The National Pork Board at their booth in the Expo Hall on Friday.

And oh the giveaways in store! You better bring an extra suitcase because our sponsors have some amazing swag for you. Plus there will be lots of raffles and giveaways, like Tide & Bounce who will be giving away a Kenmore washer and dryer - stop by their booth to enter.

And there's plenty more! Learn more about all of our Event Sponsors here.
