Giving Back Through Social Media

I'm somewhat new to the blogosphere, but in the time that I've been here, I've seen some amazingly open hearts.

I received my BlogHer '09 registration free through a Blog contest at the Queen of Spain.

Through donations on my blog, I've received enough funds to pay for my train ticket, and am well on my way to paying for the hotel.

Another mom blogger is giving me her old digital camera, so that I can take pictures at BlogHer this year.

I've started a fundraising drive to help out another single mom blogger who is disabled, so that I can buy her a bread machine to help her make the gluten-free breads she has to eat.

I've seen other bloggers use their blogs and Twitter to do amazing things.

The Christmas 2008 HP giveaways.

One blogger was able to raise $10,000 to help a mom and her kids get out of an abusive situation.

Even the Salvation Army got into the game with a Twitter ID, posting on a regular basis!

I'd like to get together with other bloggers to discuss ways to give back to the blogging community, to help others, and to build resources for all those that need it.
