Inspire the Next Generation of Passion with American Express and Goldieblox!

Update 12/21/2013: This sweepstakes has now ended. Thanks for your interest in this promotion. You can still read the bloggers' reviews by clicking on their links

Can a toy change the future of STEM? American Express and Debbie Sterling think one can. Right now, the field of engineering is 89% male, but the American Express #PassionProject is working to change that statistic by inspiring the next generation of female engineers through storytelling and play with the help of Goldieblox, a storytelling and problem-solving toy that introduces young girls to the basic prinicples of engineeners, builds self-confidnece, and opens a new world of STEM to the world's future women.

Goldieblox tells the story of Goldie, the girl inventor who solves problems by building simple machines. Girls read along with her adventures, and follow along with her inventions using their own construction set. We asked bloggers to try Goldieblox with their budding engineers, and the results are inspired.

Find out what this new generation of makers, creators and mold-breakers thought of Goldieblox and the American Express #PassionProject, and enter to win a game for the young girl in your life.

The Passion for Engineering Come to Life Sweepstakes runs from 11/22/2013 through 12/21/2013 and is only open to individuals who, at the time of entry deadline, are legal residents of the United States and are 18 years or older. Click here to read the official rules. Winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries. Good luck!

The Coolest New Toy for Awesome Little Girls: GoldieBlox (Win It!)

You may have seen the above video making its way around your Facebook feed -- if you haven't -- don't you want to post it yourself? It's SO AWESOME, which is exactly how I also describe the GoldieBlox line of toys AND their inspiring creator, Debbie Sterling. I had a chance to take a close-up look at a "GoldieBlox and the Parade Float" toy, and it is so cool -- I can't wait to send one to my little nieces! ...more

More than a Princess

Only 11% of the engineers worldwide are female, even though Engineering and Technology are the fastest growing job segments in the world. That's a staggeringly small number. Imagine how much better the things we use every day would be if they were designed by both genders!...more

More Than Princesses

Our girls are much more than princesses. That's the line that struck me in Debbie Sterling's must-watch Kickstarter video. Debbie's vision for "a book series + construction set that engages kids to build through the story of Goldie, the girl inventor who solves problems by building simple machines" struck a cord with more than just me....more

GoldieBlox Inspires Engineering in Girls

As a female in a STEM career, I get super excited when girls show interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). I'd love for more folks to "get it" when it comes to inspiring our young girls to be engineers, programmers, scientists, etc!...more

American Express GoldieBlox

These blocks for girls were created by a young woman engineer. She has researched and researched how to get girls more involved in her field of work. GoldieBlox is absolutely adorable, and even my boys absolutely loved it!...more

GoldieBlox Toys Building the Next Generation of Female Engineers

After we put together the Goldieblox Parade Float, my 6-year-old buddy Olivia didn't want to stop. In the back of the book we discovered more fun things to build and she wanted to keep going. Holding this little lady's attention is a big deal and she loved it!...more
