Disappointed but Not defeated!
Yesterday I was going to take advantage of my husband being home to watch our son while I went to the gym. I got up, put on my gym clothes and hopped in the car. Giddy with anticipating for the step aerobics class that I knew was going to be challenging and an excellent start to my day.
Or so I thought.
I arrived at the gym to find - darkness. The sign was removed and the building was empty. What the hell was going on? I wasn't the only one driving around the parking lot aimlessly trying to figure out the sight that I was seeing. Other cars pulled up, stopped, looked in and drove away with the same disappointed face that I am sure I was wearing.
I went home and of course scoured the internet for information. Apparently the owner was in arrears and was evicted from the building. Members only had a few days notice, if they visited the gym last week. Which I didn't. My membership is now transferred to another gym that is about 20 minutes away. Too far in my opinion but my husband is convinced I should keep the membership. I'm debating.
In the meantime, I am not defeated. Yesterday I celebrated losing 33 pounds instead of crying about my lack of a gym. I then fired up the television, turned to Exercise TV on demand and did the Biggest Loser workout. It was a beast. I felt good and burned tons of calories.
This all proves what I've been saying all along. You don't need to leave the house to get fit. Turn on the TV, DVD, Wii and start moving. Take that first step. Your body will love you for it!
