Help Me Learn to COOK

Okay, so here is the deal. I need your help.  My post today on Big Girl Bombshell is about learning how to cook.  I am HUNGRY for sites that will help me with that.  30 years ago (OMG) this is so hard to admit, someone gave me a cookbook specifically for the recipe on how to make mashed potatoes.  I grew up on the meal plan of boxed, frozen, canned, instant or fast.

More embarassed than anything I guess, or just plain lazy, I never ventured out much in the food department unless it was the different scenery of a drive-thru. A box or arches were a typical decision.  Come to think of it, everything I cooked was related to a shape. OMG... That's even worse than I thought. 

So I have put that magical widget Mr. Linky on my post and WANT cooking and recipe blogs.  Things to read that will help me learn to cook. I am ready to be a sponge with your advise..  

And a side note:  Crabby, I hope this was okay to use this group for... If not, isn't there a rule that its better to ask for forgiveness rather than permission...........LOL
