Trying to pick a gaming system. HALP.

We have an old XBox and it has served us relatively well for several years as both a gaming system and a DVD player (when our actual DVD player bit the dust).  Unfortunately, it rejects DVDs *frequently* due to some type of coding on the disk that clearly isn't compatible with our *coughdinosaurcough* old system.

Using the remote on it lately is also a hassle.  If you throw salt over your shoulder, pray for 30 minutes, and then roll snake eyes on the cerimonial dice, you might be able to get the "play" button to work on the 53rd time that you push it.  Or something like that.

What I'm saying, people, is that we need (oh, need, such a relative term), or rather would like, a new gaming system.  But I need some advice, because I can't decide!

I've heard a lot of great things about the XBox 360, as well as the PS3.  I've also heard die-hard fans of the Nintendo Wii System profess their undying love for that product.  I have to admit that the ability to make fitness choices on the latter really intrigues me.  Ultimately, we'd like something that Braden (3YO) can enjoy (with limited access) but that is also entertaining for the adults of the house.

So, which of these three systems do you support/love?  Do you have pro/con knowledge to share?  What are your experiences and recommendations?

Thank you in advance.  I'll also be accepting donations to the purchasing fund once  I've made my choice. (Kidding!  I think.)
