New Year To Do Lists

I'm officially on vacation. Unofficially, I'm catching up on bits and pieces of work that fell through the cracks. Stuff like organizing my inbox. Cleaning out my folders. Cleaning up spreadsheets, half finished reports... I could go on, but you get the picture.

I'm also thinking about how I want to start 2010. Do I want to do challenges? Do I need a new 101 in 1001 days list? Am I going to join Crabby McSlacker in the 10x group? Or work on organizing my life with Org Junkie?

All of these questions lead me to lists. I'm making lists, trying to decide what's important and how I can manage the important things.

Here's what I'm working with:

1) Reading challenges - Cybils, Nancy Drew, From the Stacks - anything else?

2) Prepare for a new computer purchase - need external hard drive, need to clean up the files, need to upload images that haven't been uploaded.

3) While I'm thinking about computers: I need to check out the Geek to do list - these are important things, and the new year is a good time to do them.

4) I'm thinking about a 10 in 2010 challenge of my own. Create a list of 10 things that I want to get done every month... is that doable? Or just more work? Will it help me accomplish some of the small (and large) things that get overlooked because my focus is in other places?

5) What am I going to do with my darn blogs? Am I really going to commit to Posterous and feed the bulk of my stream via Posterous? I need to commit - or not.

OK that's just a taste of what my vacation is looking like. What are you thinking about as we move closer to 2010? Are you making lists? Creating challenges? Setting goals?
