Soup toppers

I love soup, but I'm still kind of a newbie to homemade soup. Growing up homemade soup was pretty much limited to chicken or turkey (gotta love those leftovers) and seafood chowder. I've branched out. I make a pretty good carrot ginger soup. I'm in love with potato leek soup. My squash soup has yet to be perfected (a bit too starchy). 

But I've decided what really makes or breaks a soup are those last minute editions. A dollop of sour cream in a spicy black bean soup.  A bit of crispy pancetta on top potato-leek. The spoonful of plain yogurt in curried squash soup.Grated cheese on top of potato-broccoli. A drizzle of cream in my cream-free carrot soup.
