I know there is drama in every workplace. That there are mini-Napleons running amuck everywhere you go. But it just seems to me that the politics of the police service is beyond ridiculous.

Hubby is being forced out of his unit. Because on his 5th Sergent in 3 years he struck pig-shit instead of oil. This guy came into the unit of eight type-A personalities and day one told them, "They have to prove to HIM that they belong there and if they don't he'd replace them with people he wanted." Day one. These guys have been doing their thing, running major files for THREE EFFING years. Why do they need to prove anything to him?
Hubby isn't the kissing ass type. At all. This guy had taken it upon himself to have him leave. Which is fine, because hubby had made that choice already. But now this new guy informed him that he wouldn't support him for promotion period because he didn't like his attitude - and that he would be out by the end of the month. We had plans that revolved around his schedule. He wanted a say as to where he was going to end up going. And this guy could screw hubby's entire career in one big gesture.
I am so fuming mad at the way hubby was just cast aside by a NOBODY who was forced out of him LAST unit for being an ass.
And...OK. Whew. I needed to get that out.
