growing up...

it's another week with the Mommy-Brain Mixer being hosted by Two In Diapers!  if you're visiting from the blog hop - welcome and thank you!

i may have mentioned this before, but we are very lucky with our child care situation.  my mom watches chicken nugget one day a week, i am home with him one day a week, my mother in law is with him one day a week, and he attends a local, privately owned daycare the other two days.  the place is awesome.  he loves it and that makes me love it.  he has learned to sign several words, has become very well adjusted to playing with other kids, brings home projects, loves the teachers there, and seems very comfortable.

at his 1 year birthday (just about 7 weeks ago) he was moved up from the infant room to the room between infants and toddlers.  as i understand it, kids stay in this room until they're about 16-18 months and then move up to the next room.  today, however, i was asked to sign my permission for him to be moved up now...already (?)...gasp!

he's only 13 months...he's a baby...he's going to move up to the toddler room where everyone else is 16 months to 2 1/2 years old?!?!

it's good - the director/owner of the center explained that he's progressing faster than other children in his current room and that this new class will provide more stimulation.  he'll have more structured learning and will be exposed to more advanced situations.  that's awesome - i'm so excited for him and proud of him......and worried about bigger/older kids, and anxious about whether he'll like the teacher, and unsure of how i feel about him not being considered a "baby" in the eyes of the center.

i'm sure everything will go well and my fears will all work themselves out...
