Guilt-Free Indulging: Superbowl Snacks

Just because I sat on my butt for most of Sunday didn't mean I was
*totally* unhealthy...  whenever we go to a gathering, I like to bring
something quasi-healthy so I know there's at least one safe thing at
the party.  Crudite is super easy, delish, and good for you.  Or as my
BF said, "You have to call it 'raw veggies' since the guys won't know
what it is."

Anything goes, really-- a few of my favorites are broccoli, baby
carrots, mushrooms, and bell peppers.  I generally like to mix it up
with a little sweetness (carrots, bell pepper, or tomatoes) to provide
a little contrast to the other veggies.

Because the BF was pulling for the Cardinals (sorry, guys!) I put
together a bowl of yummy goodness in their colors.  Besides, I couldn't
think of anything quick and easy (and healthy) that would be black and
yellow.

Yes, that's onion dip in the center bowl-- but I made it with minced
caramelized onions and herbs, in a plain fat-free organic yogurt
base.   It's great with Greek yogurt if you have any on hand, since
that provides more of a sour cream texture, but I worked with my fridge
ingredients and the regular plain yogurt was just fine.

Do you end up tricking yourself into eating healthier junk food?  What are your favorite TV snacks?

That's another one of my favorites. :-)  So versatile and easy, and super healthy!  that must be pretty fun to do the group Lost viewing.

We get together with friends to watch Lost every week and tonight I'm making a bean dip, similar to hummus. Actually I haven't figured out the recipe yet, but it will be something like garbanzos, pintos, onions, garlic, cumin, and olive oil. With a food processor it's actually easier to make than to go to the store and buy packaged hummus!
