H and I have a system. I get up with
Peanut three mornings a week and he gets up with her four mornings a
week. Since he works until 6:30 or later most nights (and she goes to
bed at 7:30), it's a nice way for him to get an extra hour with her
(she wakes up at 7:30 and he has to start getting ready for work by
8:30). Today was his morning.

First thing in the morning, we put
Peanut on the toilet. Today, she told H that she wanted H to change her
diaper in the bathroom and then go to the toilet. He got her undressed
and she sat on the toilet and after a couple of minutes, told him "all
done". She hadn't done anything, but he just assumed that she had done
everything in the diaper. So she got off the toilet (naked) and ran
into the family room. She likes to spend some time diaper free and have
fun with H chasing her. A couple of minutes later, she came back and
said "Daddy, little poo poo".

H asked, "Do you have to go back on the toilet?"

She replied, "No, little poo poo" and pointed to the floor in the family room where she had left two turds.

I guess there are benefits to being a potty training failure...

So
dear readers... what are your potty training tips? A friend of mine
told me she was letting her daughter wear underwear at home
(supervised) to get her used to knowing when she's wet. She's hoping
that a few accidents will help her daughter learn to go to the toilet
before she pees. Has this worked for anyone? What are you trying?

Maybe not a failure. But here we are, a year and a half later and Peanut is using the potty by herself FINALLY. She still has naptime/overnight accidents but hopefully those will be gone soon!

I am using underpants (supervised) and have a huge stash of paper towels along with a spray bottle of cleaner/disinfectant.
You are not a potty training failure, you are in a very well populated group of parents all trying for the same thing - no more diapers! That or just having a floor that has seversl clean spots from scrubbing up accidents.
