Hair accessories for every occasion

I love headbands and other hair accessories. I want to say it’s because of how cute and pretty they are and the wide range of choices now. However, it’s only really because hair accessories are fantastic at masking the fact that you may not be at your freshest.

We all have these days (maybe some more than others). You wake up late, you realize you didn’t do laundry last night, and you have to be out the door in 20 minutes. Even if you can squeeze in time for a shower, we both know your hair is probably not going to be washed and it is definitely not going to be styled.

This is when I turn to a hair accessory. To help make your lazy life easier, I’ve put together shopping guides of hair accessories for every occasion. Now, thanks to me, you can be glamorous and greasy! You’re welcome.

Last year was the first year in a while that Eric and I didn’t attend Ottawa’s annual music festival, Bluesfest. (Don’t be fooled - it’s not blues music, actually.) Now, I can’t wait for summer for a chance to wear all the flowers in my hair my little heart desires. It’s a whimsical look I absolutely love and that fits the season so well.

I love the idea of wearing decadent hair accessories to a fancy event or soirée. To me, it adds a little something extra and almost always makes me feel like royalty. This is problematic when I start ordering my minions around and no one obeys.

Revello Bun Crown, $38.00
Ice Cube Barrette, $58.00

Ah, yes, the true place of the hair accessory. Everyday errands and outings are not times for me to dress up. I know, I know…many girls ensure they have perfect make-up and the most enviable outfit in their closet for a trip to the grocery store. To that, I say: Get a life. (Well, seriously, it’s a grocery store.) These are some cute options for everyday hair ware.

Printed Bow Headband, $10.54
It’s the Glitter Things Hair Tie Set, $12.99

Date hair accessories are so cute and romantic. To be honest, I haven’t stocked up in hair accessories in a long time and this is the category that was pulling at my heartstrings Eric’s credit card the most. Go glam or romantic with your date hair accessories.

Crystal Dasha Headbands, $24.00
Rive Headband, $34.00
Classic Bow Headband, $3.80
Beaded Headband, $5.80
Feather Headband, $16.00
