After spending part of last week updating my wardrobe for summer (what will I wear to Blogher next month?), I ended up with a pile of clothing to be refitted, refashioned and repurposed. I still need "items" to make this a stylin' summer, but my free-time is almost as limited as my budget.
No Fear. I found a handful of great How-Tos to make all our summer looks special. None of these appear that they will take much in the way of time or money.
Sister Diane from the Church of Craft, aka Diane Gilleland, published a wonderful tutorial for making a reverse-applique Tote Bag at CraftySylish. As always, her directions are clear and her photographs are stunning.
CraftyPod has a wonderful demonstration of making button pendants. And I'm sure we all still have huge button jars just waiting for that perfect project, right? I love that you can make several similar pendants and simply change them out to match each outfit!

To tell the truth, I’m not well versed in home economics. I don’t have a sewing machine and all my crochet projects end up looking like amoebas. However, I was pleasantly surprised how adding a little fringe to my wardrobe was a lot easier than anticipated.

This summer, the headband is one of the best ways to keep your hair under control and looking stylish at the beach, the bbq, or while shopping. I have a ton of fringe I use for doll hair and that tank top is adorable!... I will get right on it.
i recently shopped for tops and the empire style is back! Fantastic for those with some extra middle pudge to hide ( me) but be careful.........some of them make you look PREGNANT -- not a cute site at my age.LOL
