Handmade for Earth Day 2010 Auction by Team EcoEtsy

Handmade for Earthday 2010

Team EcoEtsy started its Handmade for Earth Day auction today.

I worked on the auction pages along with my co-leader, Rikkianne of Chakrapennywhistle and Amy of Ojami, our graphics guru.  (coincidentally, I just reviewed her bento system here) Man, it was tedious but those two were so supportive and so creative!! I couldn’t have done it without them!

Since I was working the auction, I actually got to see, firsthand, how talented and generous these eco-etsians are. I hope bidders recognize how much time and effort go into making these handmade items and how the environment was impacted minimally in making them.

There are six categories: Baby, Home, Fashion, Jewelry,  Health and Beauty, and Paper Goods,

I donated my organic cotton washcloths and makeup remover set to the “Health and Beauty” category. What’s really cool about this auction is that, the items will be bagged into a reusable t-bags that you can use as grocery bags. How cool and eco-friendly is that?

Health and Beauty

The proceeds from the auction will be donated to World Wildlife Fund – an organization voted on by the team. This is my first team event as the new co-leader and I am so excited to see the whole team come together. Thirty eight members donated and some doated more than one item. They are really AWESOME!!

So it’s no coincidence then, that Etsy featured EcoEtsy in another Storque article. You can read about it here.

Yes. I was one busy person last week. Now, I can go back to blogging and reconnecting with you.

Now, go and see if you want to bid on anything. And let me know what you think about the auction and its cause.

Oh, and bid G.E.N.E.R.O.U.S.L.Y.
